Bagdad a thousand years ago is the mightiest city in the universe.
Shehrazade, daughter of the Vizier, refuses to marry the man her father chose for her. Sindbad, a young Sailor, helps her run away from the wedding. He is arrested and thrown to jail, where he meets Budhur, a young Mongol princess, taken by Bagdad from her powerful father Mongka, grand-son of Gensis Khan and ennemi of the Kings of Persia. Shehrazade convinces her father to let the sailor go. Sindbad, who fell in love with Shehrazade, promises to come back to Bagdad as a king to get her hand.
King Shahryar finds out his spouses are nfaithful. Desperate to find an honest woman, he marries one everyday hat he put to death the day after. Until the day Shehrazade volonteers to marry him. Once in the King's chambers, Shehrazade asks to bid one last farewell to her sister, Dunyazad, who has secretly been prepared to ask Scheherazade to tell a story during the long night. Shahryar listens with awe to Shehrazade's story, but she refuses to tell the end before the next night. His curiosity prevents Shahryar from killing Shehrazade, who repeats the same trick night after night, finding her way to the King's heart and saving Bagdad from a terrible fate.
A year later, Sindbad comes back to Bagdad to keep his promise and marry Shehrazade. With the help of the astronomer Omar Khayyam, he is introduced to the court as a foreign Prince, who offers to defend bagdad from the dreadful Mongol armies that are walking on the city.
The bloodthirsty Houlagou Khan has promised to erase Bagdad off the maps and free his niece Budhur who is held hostage at the Palace, where she became Queen Shehrazade servant. Sindbad becomes General of the
Persian army. As Sindbad finds out that Shehrazade has married Shahryar, Budhur confesses her love to him, but he rejects her.
As the battle is about to burst, Budhur makes a deal with Houlagou, her
devilish uncle, and trades Sindbad's life for the maps of Bagdad's
underground, the fortress only weakness...
Four young heroes engaged in a terrible war, fighting to fulfill their
destinies, and holding the world's fate in their hands...
